Duration
2 years - running alongside a full-time course.

Careers/Further Study
Progression possibilities will depend on the student's ability and course choice.

Opportunities are available to play:
1. Matches against other colleges
2. British colleges tournament
3. Presidents Cup competition
4. Local league matches
5. Coaching and umpiring qualifications

Entry Requirements:
The Academy is only available to students, aged 16-19 years, wishing to study a full-time course at Blackpool Sixth Form College.

Netball skills
Involvement at national, county or Lancashire schools level is an advantage. However all candidates are considered through attendance at the trial system.

Course Content:
The netball academy involves two training sessions per week (normally 2 hours per session), regular matches against other colleges, British College’s tournaments and an opportunity to gain coaching and umpiring qualifications.

• 2007/08 North West Region Colleges Runners-up

Your Coach - Pauline Samson
Pauline has coached the netball Academy for the past two years. During that time they have won the North West British Colleges plate and reached the semi-finals of the cup competition for the last two years running.

• Level 2 Coaching Award
• England B Qualified Umpire
• England Tutor & Tester for Umpires Coaching Experience
• Great Yarmouth County Team
• Fylde Netball Tutor
