Building Project
Blackpool Sixth has recently completed a £15m campus redevelopment and is now embarking on a new £5.5m project starting July 2010.
Our new Calder Building opening Summer 2011 will house a new state-of-the-art theatre, performance studios and high quality classroom space for the departments of Performing Arts and English and Modern Foreign Languages.
The Frame – Visual Arts Studio
The Frame is our open plan visual arts studio. This is located on the ground floor of the new building providing an ideal creative environment for students of art, textiles, graphics, photography and fashion.
In addition to the Frame, the Medlock building will also include a first floor of visual arts classrooms and a media production suite.
The Department of Visual Arts and Media provides a wide range of exciting courses for students including Fine Art, Art Combined (3D), Graphic Design, Digital Photography, Textiles, Media Studies, Film Studies, Media Production and a new BTEC Certificate in Fashion and Clothing.

Centre of Excellence for Science The first phase of the College’s redevelopment programme was completed in September 2008, which included a Centre of Excellence for Science and comprises a top floor of science laboratories and state of the art equipment for Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Electronics and Forensic Science. |
