New theatre coming in Summer 2011
Spring 2012 will see the completion of a further £1.7M development to our campus which will provide a new centre of excellence in Humanities and additional learning and social space.
The exciting third phase of the Sixth Form’s £22M Campus Redevelopment Programme was completed in August 2011 creating a fully equipped theatre and 18 new classrooms, including a new home for our Department of English and Modern Languages.

The first phase, a Centre of Excellence for Science comprises a top floor of science laboratories, a first floor of IT rich classroom space for Business and ICT and a ground floor completely dedicated to a state of the art Learning Resources Centre and Library.
The new Medlock building houses our Reception area and the ground floor includes, “The Frame”, an open plan Visual Arts suite and a Learning Resource Area. The first floor contains excellently equipped classrooms for Media, Film, Photography and the top floor provides classrooms for Social Sciences.
The departments of Mathematics and Sport, Tourism and Health are located in the fully refurbished Brock building.
Vice Principal Resources & Information Systems Alan Lloyd commented,"We are very excited about this further opportunity to extend our building program. Blackpool Sixth is incredibly popular and the additional classrooms will mean that by Easter 2012, every member of the student body will be taught in modern, spacious and high-tech classroom."
