Privacy Policy
The College recognises the rights of students and staff to have their data held safely, securely and legally with regards to the Data Protection Act 1998 legislation. This involves ensuring that only the information required for the running of the College is requested from the students,and that the students know what informationis being held about them as well as their rights with respect to that data.
The Data Protection Policy that is in place within the College takes steps to ensure that the data is kept securely, both in electronic and paper based formats, and to ensure that the data that is kept is as up to date as possible. The Policy also identifies the individuals and organisations to which the College disseminates data, along with legal justifications for those data destinations.
The Blackpool Sixth Form College aims not only to abide with its legal obligations relating to the Data Protection Act 1998, but also to provide an environment in which both students and staff feel comfortable that the College is keeping their data securely, and that they may exercise their rights with regards to that data at any time. The security issues addressed within the Policy are supported by the College's Disaster Management Plan and Computer Misuse Policy.
