Outstanding Results - Our Best Ever
Our students achieved a fantastic set of results in August 2009. The overall A Level pass rate climbed to a record 99%.
A stunning 27 subjects achieved a 100% pass rate. The number of studentsobtaining the very highest grades (A or B) increased to over 45%. These were the best ever results for The Blackpool Sixth Form College which was graded as "Grade 1: Outstanding" in its Ofsted inspection in May 2009.

The College's A Level subjects saw a very substantial increase in high achievement. All of the A level Art and Design courses had tremendous levels of success. In Fine Art over 90% of students achieved an A or B grade. Other subjects where over 70% of students were awarded top grades included German (90%), Critical Thinking (75%) and Economics (72%).
There were substantial increases in achievement in Maths and Physics, with over 40% of students obtaining an A or a B in these subjects which are often seen as especially difficult. The overall pass rate for all BTEC courses was well over 99% with the vast majority of students obtaining Distinctions or Merits. The results confirm Ofsted's view that BTEC provision at the College is particularly outstanding.
