Oxbridge Students

In August 2009, eight students started study at Oxford and Cambridge. This is the highest number ever for the College.

Four students gained places at the University of Oxford. Holly Atton (formerly of Highfield Humanities College) is reading Chemistry at Keble College, Alex Gallagher (formerly of St George’s High School) is reading Medicine at St Annes College, Sean Moorhead (formerly of St George’s High School) is reading Maths at Mansfield College and Luke Maxted (formerly of St Aidan’s C of E Technology College) is reading English at St Hilda’s College. Luke commented, “I am really excited to be going to study at St Hilda’s College, Oxford. I am really pleased with the support that I received at the College.”

Four students also gained places at Cambridge University. Nathan Bookbinder-Ryan (formerly of Rossall School) is reading Philosophy at Queen’s College. Tom Walsh (formerly of St Aidan’s C of E Technology College) is reading Natural Sciences at Selwyn College and Eleanor Richards (also formerly of St Aidan’s C of E Technology College) is reading Medicine at Girton College. Natalie Lealand, who was home schooled before joining the College is reading Education with English at Homerton College.

Eleanor reflected, “I have enjoyed my time at the College. My tutors were really encouraging and I am very happy to be studying Medicine at Cambridge.”
