Certificate in ICT Practitioners

BTEC Level 3 ICT Practitioners is a programme of study, equivalent to either one AS Levels (Certificate) taken in one year or equivalent to one A Level (Subsidiary Diploma) taken over two years. This course covers general and specialised aspects of IT, specifically focusing on the multimedia aspect of IT such as Web Design,Animation, Graphics and the traditional elements such as computer systems.
Studying BTEC ICT at Blackpool Sixth Form will offer you the opportunity to experience practical learning using state of the art Apple Macintosh computers and industry standard software such as Dreamweaver, Adobe Flash, Photoshop, among many others
Did you know?
Successful completion of this course leads to A2 study for the Subsidiary Diploma in IT. This is equivalent to a single A level in UCAS points.

Assessment
100% coursework
BTEC qualifications are designed to be vocationally relevant, therefore assessments are predominantly coursework based and often involving the creation of a final product. All assignments for the course are written by the course team and therefore are tailored to meet the individual needs of the students.
Assessments can range from research projects and typed reports to practical demonstrations of using software or hardware, as appropriate. Each unit is individually assessed, with the final marks coming from the combination of points to produce the final grade.

The course will help give the student important skills for the future.It can also help those who want to progress into further study or employment inthe ICT industry or business sector.
