English - GCSE
Specific requirements
You must achieve at least a grade D in GCSE English.
What will I study?
You will undertake a range of speaking and listening activities and produce four pieces of coursework including personal writing, descriptive writing and responses to a Shakespeare play and to poetry. You will also learn a variety of exam techniques.
Assessment
60% Written Examination.
20% Written Coursework.
20% Oral Coursework.
Where does it lead
The course can lead to AS English and may be required in order to study other AS level subjects. GCSE English is essential for
many careers, including teaching and further study.
