English Literature

If you decide to take English Literature at Blackpool Sixth Form you will study a range of poetry, novels and drama. You’ll build up your analytical and evaluation skills and the texts you’ll study will range from the classic to the modern. In the first year you’ll also be given the chance to write your own extract of fiction based on a text we’ll study in class.

Did you know? Each year our students get the opportunity to enter national and in college poetry and story competitions.

Specific requirements

Grade C or above GCSE English. Grade B in GCSE English Literature, but if students with a grade C are enthusiastic and are willing to attend an English Literature Summer School day before the start of term then they are welcome to apply.
