Spanish

Any modern language will give you a valuable extra skill to add to your other subjects, and is a definite advantage in today’s competitive job market. You can combine a language with many other subjects at university.Spanish is the third most spoken language in the world, with approximately 400 million speakers.

Did you know? You can study a film (e.g. Pan’s Labyrinth or ‘El Laberinto del Fauno’) as part of the A Level Spanish course.

Specific requirements

Grade B or above in GCSE Spanish

 

What will I study?

You will continue to practise the four language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing using a variety of sources such as newspapers, magazines, websites, films and books.

Where does it lead

At University, A Level Spanish combines very well with subjects like Business, Economics, IT or International Management. Language graduates have a vast array of career opportunities open to them, ranging from work with well-known multinational companies to international organisations or charities.
