Subsidiary Diploma in Applied Science (Medical route)

This course is aimed at those students who have an interest in Medicine, Human Biology, Human health and developments in medical techniques. It is of interest for students interested in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Veterinary Nursing, Dental Technician, Radiotherapy, Science Laboratory Technician. The course also includes aspects of Chemistry, Physics, and considers the moral and social aspects of Medical Science. The course is equivalent to one A level and is studied over 2 years.
Please Note - This course is unsuitable for students who wish to become a doctor and pursue a career in Medicine. If you are unsure if it is the course for you, please contact the college for further advice.
Specific requirements
You will need at least one Science GCSE at C grade or above or a BTEC First Diploma in a Science subject.

This course can lead to careers in nursing, teaching, occupational therapy, veterinary nurse, radiotherapy, ambulance technician or paramedic, ultrasound technician, pathology lab technician, science lab technician and in the pharmaceutical industry.
