Overseas Students Fees

The tuition fees for an International student starting a full-time course in September 2011 is £5,000 (subject to review) per College year.

The fees will remain fixed at this level for the second (or third) year of study. Payment of the fees will give the student access to a full-time course of study which will be negotiated on arrival.

The fees include:

  • Access to any GCSE, A level, or applied A level course offered by the College which is appropriate to the student.
  • Tuition in classes with UK students
  • Special help with English if required
  • Access to enrichment studies offered by the College such as a wide range of musical and sporting opportunities
Support and guidance from a Personal Tutor
  • Full careers advice and guidance in applying to UK universities or elsewhere.
  • Access to the College library and Learning Resources Centre including computer and Internet access
  • Loan of essential textbooks
  • Entry fees for first examinations (but not re-sit examinations)

The fees do not include:

  • Locker key deposits: a small fee is charged on enrolment
  • Optional expenses: such as for visits, field trips, or practical materials for coursework
  • Replacement costs: a student who loses or damages College books or equipment will be required to pay the replacement cost

Payment of College Fees

An initial deposit of £500 is payable to the College to confirm an application. This deposit will only be refunded in the case of the student being unsuccessful in achieving a visa to study at this College. The remaining balance of £4,500 should be paid into the College bank account by 31st August 2011.

Students who are unable to pay the full fees by this date must inform the College at the earliest opportunity. The College will make every effort to assist the student.

Tuition Fee Status

The majority of students living outside the United Kingdom and the European Community are likely to qualify as "overseas" students and will be required to pay the fees as outlined above. Those with Home student status aged between 16 and 19 are educated free. Any applicant who considers that they may qualify as a "home" student should make this clear on their application form. The College will contact the student to consider the matter.

In order to qualify as a "home" student one of the following needs to apply:

  • You will have been "ordinarily resident" and "settled" in the UK for 3 years before you begin your course
  • You are a child of a European Community national and you have been resident in a member state of the European Community for the 3-year period immediately before you begin your course
  • You are 16-18 and accompanying parents who have leave to enter and reside in the UK
  • You have a full UK passport showing British citizenship and have been resident in the UK or EU for three years immediately prior to starting your course.
