Progression Routes
Once you have completed your studies at Blackpool Sixth, you can choose from a wide variety of progression routes available to you. These fall into three broad categories outlined below.
It is definitely worth investigating the different options available to you today!
Don’t forget that your desired progression route in the future will influence your course choices at school and college today.
Route 1: The Russell Group Universities
The Russell Group represents 20 leading UK universities which are committed to maintaining the very best research, an outstanding teaching and learning experience and unrivalled links with business and the public sector.
They include:- University of Cambridge

Route 2: General Higher Education and Local H.E Providers
Here at Blackpool Sixth we work in partnership with a range of universities in particularly with local universities to ensure the success of our students as they progress to full time Higher Education.
Route 3: Part Time Higher Education & Employment
Many of our students progress from the Sixth Form to enter the world of work by taking up part time employment alongside further study, full time employment with training or taking on an Apprenticeship.
Gap Year
Before starting a course at university or entering the world of work, a number of students opt to take a Gap Year.
