EcoFest 2010 at The Blackpool Sixth Form College
What is EcoFest 2010?
A fantastic family event providing fun for the community as well as promoting “eco-friendly” ideas. The event will also celebrate the College’s two-year partnership with Gaziemir Kipa 10 Lisesi, a school in Izmir, Turkey. 27 students and staff from that school will participate in the event.
When & Where is it?
Saturday April 3rd 2010 from 12 – 4 p.m at The Blackpool Sixth Form College, Blackpool Old Road, Blackpool, FY3 7LR.

- Eco Fashion Show
- “EcoAccessorise” – Eco Easter Bonnets!
- The “Eggs Factor” – celebrity egg decoration

- Owl and Bird of Prey Flying Display and Talk

- Eco activities
- Art and craft activities (junk modelling, mask making)
- Advice and ideas on Cutting Your Carbon Footprint and Saving Money
- Music and Dance – live bands, a dance performance and a Turkish-inspired disco to finish

Exhibition / Shopping:
There will be stalls run by local businesses and environmental organisations and lots of goods for sale e.g. plants, eco / fairtrade products and toys. Food and drink stalls including Turkish foods to try.
Workshops
Workshops will be running for those of you who'd like to know more about the impact of Climate Change and what you can do about it. Oxfam will be holding an action workshop and we will also have a workshop on the relationship between food and climate change. Oxfam campaigns to raise awareness of the devastating effect climate change is having on the poorest people worldwide. Join this workshop to learn more about the facts of climate change and find out what you can do to campaign against it! There'll be interactive games and activities, information to take home, and a creative action to get involved with on the day.
Great Competitions for Children:
Eco-Accessorise! The Easter Bonnet Competition
Create a wonderful hat using only recycled materials. Send us a photo of you wearing it and tell us in less than 50 words what you re-used to make it. We are looking for the most original and eye-catching hats around. Click here for details
