College recieves Civic Trust Environmental Award
The College has been given a prestigious award for its environmental initiatives. The Blackpool Civic Trust, an organisation which helps protect, preserve and develop Blackpool's architectural and natural heritage, awarded its Environmental Shield for 2010 to The Blackpool Sixth Form College and, in particular, to the student-run Eco Council.

The Award was given at a ceremony held at St. John's Church. The audience included the Mayor of Blackpool and the town's two MPs. The citation for the award highlighted the role of the Eco Council in the reduction of the College's carbon footprint and in a wide range of other environmental endeavours. Five students from the College attended the awards and very much enjoyed meeting other members of the community who are working to improve Blackpool for the future.
