Four students offered Oxbridge places
2010 has already brought excellent news for four students from The Blackpool Sixth Form College with confirmation that they have been offered coveted places at Oxford and Cambridge for later this year.

Charlotte Anderson, 17, and Rosy Kanuritch, 18, have been offered places at the University of Oxford studying German and Linguistics and Human Sciences respectively. Joe Prestwich, 17, and Gordon Pal, 17, have been offered places to read English and Mathematics respectively at the University of Cambridge.
Three of the students, Gordon, Rosy and Joe, all came to the College from Hodgson High School and Charlotte previously attended Collegiate High School.
Gordon Pal, a Senior Student at the College, stated, "I feel that the College's support has been integral in helping me to gain my place at Cambridge and allowed me to differentiate myself from the competition. It is a great feeling to be offered a place and now I am concentrating on my exams to make sure I achieve my place."
Charlotte Anderson commented, "I felt really well prepared for my interview. I won't say that it wasn't tough, but I found the experience on the whole very positive and gained a lot from the application process and preparation to the tests and the interviews. It was great to hear that I had been offered a place and is a very exciting prospect."
Principal, Felicity Greeves expressed her delight and said, "Each year students from the College are achieving places at Oxford and Cambridge and this is evidence of the hard work and tremendous determination of the students and their teachers." She added, "All the students are part of the College's extremely successful Gifted and Talented programme. They have received extensive support to help them achieve their ambitions. This has involved a programme of visits to both Oxford and Cambridge and plenty of expert guidance in the College on crucial aspects such as interview technique."
