Music students return from tour of Paris
A large group of Music students from Blackpool Sixth have returned from an incredible 5 day tour of Paris which included performances at Parc Georges Brassens and Parc Champ de Mars. The 47 students and 7 staff from Blackpool Sixth marked their return from France with the Annual Summer Music Concert.
The visit was a great experience for the large group of students who were also able to enjoying some sightseeing of the Louvre, the Tuilleries Gardens, Arc du Triomphe, the Trocadero, Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower.
The visit was especially rewarding for the students who have spent the past year raising money for the tour by performing in concerts across the Fylde Coast. This fundraising, along with support from the college and the Access Fund, allowed for more students to have the opportunity to take part in the tour.
Music student and member of the Student Council Ali Bamber commented, “I really enjoyed the Music Tour. My favourite part has to be the performances. The crowds were really good and we got an excellent reception after performing. The tour has definitely contributed to my studies, I think it has made me a better performer.”
Luke Peeters, also a Music student, said, “I particularly enjoyed being with other musicians. We were able to have a jam session on the ferry trip back to England that I will never forget. I also enjoyed being able to see the traditional architecture and the traditional side of France.”
