Artwork to be displayed at the Annual Exhibition of British Artists in London

Artwork from a Blackpool Sixth student is set to be displayed at the prestigious Annual Exhibition of British Artists at the Mall Galleries in 2011.

A selection of artwork has been shortlisted from the college’s annual Art Exhibition and Fashion show, which marked the end of the students’ academic year. At least one piece will be chosen and displayed in the Annual Exhibition of British Artisits in the London gallery which is ran by The Royal Society of British Artists.

Student Katie Hampson, who created one of the shortlisted pieces, commented, “It would be a great honour for my work to be chosen and displayed in London with work from other artists.”

“I have really enjoyed my first year at Blackpool Sixth and the opportunities like this which have been made available to me. I am looking forward to more of the same next year in upper sixth.”
