what we do
We aim to provide you with the resources and tools to develop your research and information-gathering techniques and to support you in your studies.
We will provide you with an initial induction into the LRC where you will have a tour of the Library and resources, and complete some research gathering techniques and discover how to search the book catalogue online.
what we expect of you
fyi has been designed as a modern, comfortable and adaptable space for you to concentrate on your studies.
We ask all students to respect the area and to respect others' need to study in a pleasant and calm environment.
Food and drink (including gum) is not allowed in fyi. Bottled water must be kept in bags.
Please keep mobile phones on silent at all times and go outside if you need to make or take a call.
the team
We have Learning Resource Mentors available in the FYi and the FYi Express at all times with specific curriculum responsibilities to help you to research for your assignments. In addition, we have a number of fyi Student Mentors on duty at all times who can help you with any queries you may have.
