Access Funds
You may be able to claim additional funding from the Access Fund if you experience exceptional financial hardship during your time at the College. The fund is there to help cover the costs of attending college, such as travel, equipment, textbooks and attendance on College study visits. Awards are means tested and each case is considered on an individual basis.
Adult Learning Grant
The Adult Learning Grant (ALG) is there to give you a helping hand towards travel, study materials or other costs you might incur while you’re studying. Students may become eligible for this from the age of 19 but whether you’re eligible also depends on the course you are taking and your income. Students who are eligible could get up to £30 per week during term time - that’s around £1,000 a year.
