Transport Support
Public Transport - Door-to-Door Journey Planner
Click the link below to plan routes to the college using public transport:
http://www.transportdirect.info/Web2/JourneyPlanning/JourneyPlannerInput.aspx
Transport is a major cost for many students and their parents.
Whilst the introduction of EMAs has gone some way to reducing the financial barriers to learning, the College believes that it ought to subsidise the travel of students living some distance from the College. The support towards transport costs is provided on an equitable basis and is as fair as any system can be. The substantially increased subsidy introduced in September 2007 will remain, subject to the transport operators maintaining their pricing structure.
Students must live outside a three-mile radius from the College (as defined on the College's map) to be eligible for transport support.
Eligible students can purchase the following:
On Blackpool Transport
- Nine one-month All Zone or Central Zone bus passes for £33 each (the rpice, if purchased outside College is £53 and £45 respectively) for travel to and from College within the Blackpool, Fleetwood, Thornton-Cleveleys, Bispham, & Lytham St. Annes areas.
- Nine one-month North Zone Bus Passes for £33 each for students who live Over Wyre. This price includes the cost of a bus from Poulton centre to College.
For an additional £5 per month students living Over Wyre can purchase an All Zone bus pass instead of a North Zone so that the pass can also be used for social travel throughout the Fylde at any time.
On Stagecoach
Students from Lytham, Garstang, Lancaster, Kirkham, Preston and the surrounding villages (areas served by Stagecoach buses 42, 61, 68 and The Fylde Villager) can purchase 10 four-weekly "Goldrider" tickets for £30 each (if purchased outside of College the price is £80)
Students living in the Fleetwood, Cleveleys, Thornton and Poulton areas covered by the the Stagecoach 84 bus service can also purchase 10 four-weekly "Goldrider" tickets for £30 each providing a direct route to the College.
TheGoldrider ticket provides unlimited travel throughout Lancashire, on Stagecoach bus, for the 28 day period.
All bus passes are for term time only.
