Subsidised Transport
Concerned about the cost of coming to college? If you choose to study at Blackpool Sixth, we will do everything possible to support you.

Below is a list of subsidised transport and routes to the college:
For students travelling from South Blackpool, Lytham, St Annes, Kirkham, Freckleton and surrounding areas, Blackpool Sixth offers the following help with transport costs:
- If travelling on Blackpool Transport line 11, you are eligible for a subsidised monthly pass.
- If purchased normally, these will cost £50.00 per month or over £2.50 a day.*
- However, if purchased directly from Blackpool Sixth, this will cost only £40.00 per month*
- This is a 20% saving per month and equates to around £2 per day for your travel.
- The Sixth Form also offers a specialised bus running through these areas at around £110.00 per term – this equates to around £1.80 per day.
For students travelling from Preesall, Pilling, Knott End, Hambleton and surrounding areas, Blackpool Sixth offers the following help with transport costs:
- If travelling on Blackpool Transport line 2C, you are eligible for a subsidised monthly pass.
- If purchased normally, these will cost £50.00 per month or over £2.50 a day.*
- However, if purchased directly from Blackpool Sixth, this will cost only £40.00 per month*
- This is a 20% saving per month and equates to around £2 per day for your travel.
For students travelling from Lancaster, Garstang, Preston and surrounding areas, Blackpool Sixth offers the following help with transport costs:
- If travelling on Stagecoach lines 42, 61 or 68, you are eligible for a subsidised monthly pass.
- If purchased normally, these will cost £88.00 per month or over £4 a day.*
- However, if purchased directly from Blackpool Sixth, this will cost only £36.00 per month*
- This is a 59% saving per month and equates to under £2 per day for your travel.

For students travelling from Kirkham, Wesham, Elswick and surrounding areas, Blackpool Sixth offers the following help with transport costs:
- If travelling on the Fylde Villager 75 bus line, you are eligible for a subsidised pass.
- If purchased normally, your ticket will cost £2.40 per day.
- However, if purchased directly from Blackpool Sixth, this will cost only £60.00 per half term (Approximately £2 per day)*!
- If travelling via train, you can also claim back 40% of the cost as long as you produce the tickets once you get to Sixth Form.

For students travelling from Fleetwood and surrounding areas*, Blackpool Sixth offers the following help with transport costs:
- If travelling on Blackpool Transport line 14 and live over three miles away from Sixth Form, you are eligible for a subsidised monthly pass.
- If purchased normally, these will cost £50.00 per month or over £2.50 a day.**
- However, if purchased directly from Blackpool Sixth, this will cost only £40.00 per month!
- This is a 20% saving per month and equates to around £2 per day for your travel.
