Bad Weather Statement

College is open for business as usual. All examinations will run as scheduled. Students must ensure that they are present for all examinations for which they have been entered.

The college will strive to open to maintain students’ education at all times, particularly in January when examinations are close.

In snowy/icy conditions, students are advised to use public transport rather than drive cars. They are asked to wear warm coats and robust shoes/boots in case they need to walk any distance.

Any student not able to attend should expect work to be set by email for lessons missed and to complete this work before their return to college. This will also apply to all college closures.

When open in poor conditions, the college will stay in constant contact with bus companies ensuring that public transport is running and available. Any decision to withdraw buses will be communicated to the college by the relevant bus company in sufficient time for the college to give students time to get home. Full scale withdrawal of public transport will trigger immediate closure of college.

All communications about transport and opening/closing times of college will be given to all students by email from the Principal or the Vice Principal, Alan Lloyd, normally by 7.40 in the morning. Communication will continue throughout the day as appropriate on email and our website.
