College confirms two positive Covid-19 tests
Blackpool Sixth confirms that two students have tested positive for Covid-19. Both students self-isolated as soon as they developed symptoms last week and have not returned to college since. The local health protection team has been informed and are contacting all those who may have come into close contact with the students who have tested positive, asking them to self-isolate for 10 days from their last contact.
The college wishes to reassure everyone that it is acting on the advice of the local health protection team in regard to any further actions that might be needed. We will communicate any developments through our website and directly to students and parents/carers via email. Our key priority as always is the safety of our students, staff and the wider college community.
Unless told otherwise, all other students should continue to attend classes as normal and continue to follow the measures to reduce the risk of anyone contracting the virus.
The college has put in place an extremely rigorous set of procedures to maximise social distancing and minimise the numbers of people staff and students come into contact with at college. We are continually reviewing these procedures and will make any changes needed in response to any developments or guidance from Public Health England.
If students or their parents/carers have any specific concerns relating to attending college, they should contact their pastoral mentor in the first instance.
