COURSE oVERVIEW

Fine art encompasses the personal study, investigation and exploration of painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, mixed media, sculpture and installation. Researching contemporary and historical artists underpins and enhances your development. Please note that this course cannot be combined with A Level Art, Craft and Design.

If you do not have GCSE Art, it is advisable to have attended taster sessions and open events.

Why study A Level Art: Fine art at Blackpool Sixth?

All projects are tailored and personalised, students are encouraged to explore and develop their ideas through guided and independent study. Former students have been shortlisted for, and have won, a number of national awards and exhibited their artwork at many events in house and externally including Sainsbury’s, Booths Gallery Lytham and Alexandra Palace London.

Teacher expertise

The staff are very experienced in teaching A level. All staff have relevant practical degrees, ranging from illustration to fine art. Staff are skilled in a number of 2D and 3D techniques and processes.

      Luke is an incredibly talented student who excelled in BTEC Performing Arts – Musical Theatre, achieving an impressive Triple Distinction Star grade. Luke has decided to take a gap year to audition for colleges but dreams to attend a top London-based college, and eventually make it to the West End.
