We’re looking forward to seeing you at our first open event of the year. The college will be open between 10:30am and 2:30pm on Saturday 13th November.
This page has some key information for you about the event.
If you are arriving by car you will be directed to parking at the front, side or or rear of the college. Please come to our main reception where prospective students will be asked to sign in via a QR code on their mobile device. You will receive an event bag and a map of all the subject rooms and other locations to visit. You will then be directed to the first subject you wish to visit.

We offer over 60 courses, you will be able to find out about them all by visiting the relevant room or facility.
There will be essential information talks by our Principal in the Theatre at 11:15am, 12:15pm and 1:15pm. The talk will cover an overview of our curriculum and study programmes and give you a great insight into the many wider opportunities we offer our students. The talk will be of particular interest to parents/carers.
Visit M115 to find out more about STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) at Blackpool Sixth.
We will be joined on the day by three people from industry, two from Victrex and one from Microsoft, who will be on hand to offer advice about building careers in this important area of employment.
Blackpool Sixth prides itself on the outstanding support we provide our students. You can find out more at our Support Marketplace. In the Foyer near main Reception you will be able to find out about our pastoral support and ‘Life Links’ programme. Further down the corridor, outside Relish you can find out about our subsidised transport support and other forms of financial support such as the bursary scheme. There will also be a stall providing information about our Technology for Learning (TfL) scheme.
Opposite the Theatre we have our Focus Centre which is the home of our friendly and knowledgeable Additional Learning Needs Support team. They will be able to talk to you about how the college can support you with any medical or learning needs as a student in the college.
Blackpool Sixth students benefit from a wide range of very affordable and high quality eating options. At the event you can try out some items from our menus in the main dining room, Café Six. Our very own branch of Starbucks will be open throughout the event for drinks and cakes. There will also be complimentary tea, coffee and juice provided in Café Six and our other main dining area, Relish.
As well as all the expert advice from our subject teachers, you can also have a chat with our Admissions and Liaison team in the FYi. They will be able to help you start to plan a study programme which matches your interests and ambitions. They will also be able to help you get started with your application to join the college in September 2022. Our professionally qualified careers team and our work experience team will be on hand to help you focus on your future plans.

We have put in place a number of measures to help keep everyone safe from Coronavirus.
We have separated the subject rooms to provide better social distancing.
We will be monitoring numbers in the rooms and may need to ask people to come back a little later if the room is at capacity.
We are asking everyone who visits to please wear a face covering within the college buildings.
Hand sanitising stations will be located around the college.
We are asking people, where possible, to restrict family group sizes.
We are asking visitors to exit the site via the rear carpark.
