Enrolment appointment
In the second week of July we will send you an appointment time to come and enrol with us in college. We will send this by email, together with an SMS reminder. The appointments in college will be from mid-morning on Thursday 21st August and throughout the day on Friday 22nd August.
If you can’t make the exact appointment time but you can attend some other time between 10 am and 6 pm on Thursday or between 9 am and 4 pm on the Friday, just come when you can. If for some unavoidable reason you can’t attend at all on either of these days, please contact admissions@blackpoolsixth.ac.uk as soon as possible ahead of enrolment.

Enrolment Days
When you attend your enrolment appointment at college you will need to provide us with a copy of your GCSE (or equivalent) results. Please bring a printed copy of these if at all possible. If you have already obtained any GCSEs (or equivalents) from previous years, you will also need to bring the certificates or results slips.
The main part of your enrolment appointment will be the final selection of your course choices. You will discuss and finalise your choices with the help of our friendly curriculum enrollers. If you need more general advice or careers guidance, we will be able to provide this. You will also have a photograph taken for your college membership card and will be able to sort out transport and finance support (if required).

Starting college
Following your successful enrolment in college, we will invite you to one of our Induction Days - either Tuesday 2nd September or Wednesday 3rd September. This will be a gentle introduction to college and will cover some important tasks such as getting yourself set up on our college computer systems.
On Thursday 4th September you will start your full timetable with us and will embark on the exciting journey ahead as a Blackpool Sixth student.

FAQs
- What is enrolment?
Enrolment is the final step in becoming a student at Blackpool Sixth. It’s when you confirm your course choices, have your GCSE results checked, provide identification, and complete your student record. Once you’re enrolled, you’ll be officially on our system and ready to start your studies.
- When do I enrol?
Enrolment takes place in person on GCSE Results Day – Thursday 21st August 2025 and Friday 22nd August.
You will receive your enrolment appointment by email with a date and time. If you can’t come at that exact time but can come between 10 am and 5.30 on Thursday 21st August or between 9 am and 3.30 pm on Friday 22nd August, then just come when you can. If you can’t come on either day, see the question below about being away or unavailable on the enrolment days.
- How long will enrolment take on the day?
That’s difficult to say because it depends on how many students arrive at the same time and whether you need to make changes to your courses. Enrolment times vary depending on individual students’ circumstances. On average, enrolment will take between one and two hours.
- Do I need to enrol in person, or can it be done online?
You need to attend your enrolment meeting in person.
Some things can be done online before enrolment, like logging into your application portal and submitting ID evidence. But you must attend in person on GCSE Results/Enrolment Day to verify documents, have your photograph taken, and finalise your course choices.
- What if I’m away or unavailable on GCSE Results Day or the day after?
If you are unavailable on our enrolment days, Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd August, you will need to complete the Not available for in-person enrolment form. You will need to book an appointment for a face-to-face appointment for your soonest availability. If you have not received your appointment following our two enrolment days, please book your appointment here
We will need to see your GCSE results during enrolment. If a family member is collecting your results from school, they can bring those to your appointment on the 21st/22nd, which will allow Admissions to add these to your application. If you are receiving your results by email, please share these by email to admissions@blackpoolsixth.ac.uk, marking clearly in the subject line your Name, GCSE Results.
- What are my login details for my application?
You created a login when you first applied online.

- When will I have my photograph taken for my college ID card?
Your photograph for your college ID, will be taken during your enrolment appointment.

- What do I need to bring with me on the Enrolment day?
When you attend your enrolment appointment at college, you will need to bring a paper copy of your GCSE or equivalent results. If you have already obtained any GCSEs (or equivalent qualifications) from previous years, you will also need to bring these.
If you have not uploaded your ID documentation before enrolment, please bring these to your appointment.
- What if I don’t have my results?
We need to see the official results on enrolment day. If you’ve lost your slip or are waiting for late results, please let us know as soon as possible. Not having your results may delay your enrolment.
- What happens if I don’t meet the entry requirements?
Don’t worry—we’ll talk through your options at your enrolment meeting. We have a range of programmes, and you may still be able to join the college on a different course or pathway. Please attend your scheduled appointment so we can help you in person.
