Enjoy a day to find out more about the college, our courses and the extra-curricular activities we offer. There will be a BBQ and musical entertainment! This is an applicant-only event.
Parent/Carer conference and taster event
This event gives your parents/carers the chance to find out more about the opportunities available to students at Blackpool Sixth. At the same time, the taster event gives you a fantastic opportunity to sample different subjects to support you in making informed decisions about your course choices. These tasters are open to year 11 applicants only so you need to have applied to Blackpool Sixth to attend these sessions.
Open Events
Our open events are an excellent opportunity for you to come and see Blackpool Sixth. You’ll be able to walk around our state of the art, friendly campus and find out more information about studying with us. Take in the warm and welcoming atmosphere and grab a drink at our very own Costa. See our fantastic facilities, tour the departments and talk to tutors about their courses. Meet staff from our support teams and get expert advice and guidance about your next steps.
Year 10
What is the year 10 experience day at Blackpool Sixth?
This is the start of your journey to the next stage of your education.
The event is run with participating schools who will arrange to bring you for the day.
The day will run from 9:30am – 2:15pm and will give you the opportunity to see our fantastic building and facilities and experience our warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Subject taster sessions
Our departments will run a range of activities in a number of different subjects. These sessions will give you the chance to find out more about our courses and about being a student at Blackpool Sixth.
Looking ahead
The day will also give you the chance to learn more about the college in general, our application process, future events and the taster opportunities we will offer you during Year 11.
New Student Day
- Spend a whole day in college with other applicants when your GCSEs are over
- Sample different subject taster sessions
- Find out more about our support services, extra-curricular activities, student clubs and societies
- Sample a range of food and drink options on offer in Costa and our cafes around the building
- Enjoy musical entertainment and a barbecue at lunchtime
- Gain fantastic insight into what it will be like to be a student at Blackpool Sixth
