We are here to ensure your transition from school to Blackpool Sixth is straightforward and easy to follow, from Year 10 Experience Day to Results and Enrolment Day.  This page will give you an overview of the process and helpful links to relevant information. year 10 Experience day

Visit Blackpool Sixth with your school and find out more about the college and our courses. This will be arranged through your school, you will book your own sessions for the day.

Enjoy a day to find out more about the college, our courses and the extra-curricular activities we offer. There will be a BBQ and musical entertainment! This is an applicant-only event.


Our Taster Day event gives students a fantastic opportunity to sample different subjects at Blackpool Sixth. Taster sessions are open to year 11 applicants so you need to have applied to Blackpool Sixth to attend.  We recommend attending as many taster events as possible, these will support you in making informed decisions about your course choices.

Open Events

Our open events are an excellent opportunity for you to come and see Blackpool Sixth. You’ll be able to walk around our state of the art, friendly campus and find out more information about studying with us. Take in the warm and welcoming atmosphere and grab a drink at our very own Costa. See our fantastic facilities, tour the departments and talk to tutors about their courses.  Meet staff from our support teams and get expert advice and guidance about your next steps.

Year 10

What is the year 10 experience day at Blackpool Sixth?

This is the start of your journey to the next stage of your education.

The event is run with participating schools who will arrange to bring you for the day.

The day will run from 9:30am – 2:15pm and will give you the opportunity to see our fantastic building and facilities and experience our warm and welcoming atmosphere.

You will be able to choose two sessions to attend during the day and lunch will be provided. Your school will arrange transport and you will be accompanied by school staff.

Subject taster sessions

Our departments will run a range of activities in a number of different subjects. These sessions will give you the chance to find out more about our courses and about being a student at Blackpool Sixth.

Looking ahead

The day will also give you the chance to learn more about the college in general, our application process, future events and the taster opportunities we will offer you during Year 11.


You can apply now for September 2024! We would encourage you to apply to Blackpool Sixth as soon as you can once you are in Year 11 and it is best to apply before Christmas. You will receive plenty of help on how to apply.
