Meet the Team
Jill Gray
Principal
I am privileged and extremely proud to be the Principal at Blackpool Sixth. The inclusive, caring ethos of the college combined with the expertise and commitment of our talented staff makes Blackpool Sixth a great place to study and work.
At Blackpool Sixth, we recognise that every student is unique, with their own personality and talent. We therefore tailor our work to ensure the learning experience is personalised for them.
Our mission to ‘inspire learning, develop character, build futures’’ supports this. We believe that focusing on these three areas ensures students have a happy, engaging and successful learning experience and progress to bright futures.
Gail Yeadon
Deputy Principal
As Deputy Principal I am responsible for the quality of the academic curriculum, in particular, in A level and GCSE courses, and teaching, learning and assessment across the whole college.
I am passionate about providing learning opportunities for our young people that allow them to flourish. For our students to thrive they need high quality, purposeful and engaging teaching and assessment and, importantly, they need to be happy.
This is one of the reasons that working collaboratively with our remarkable staff has such a positive impact on our students' experience here at college and their journey into their next steps. Such positive relationships between staff, students and their parents and carers lead to our continued celebration of outstanding achievements and destinations year on year.
Tina Cooper
Vice Principal
As Vice Principal I am responsible for the quality of the vocational curriculum at level 2 and 3, such as BTEC, CTEC and T Levels. Additionally I am responsible for the cross college curriculum offer, adapting that offer in response to student and employer needs and to national education developments.
I believe that education has the power to transform a young person’s life and am passionate about providing students with choice and opportunities that fulfil their higher education and career aspirations through high quality education and support.
I firmly believe in equality of opportunity and that all young people can develop in a safe and happy environment - that is what is so wonderful about Blackpool Sixth. I am proud to lead and be part of a team that has a focus on the whole person, going beyond their academic studies, enabling students to develop a broad range of skills through their studies and extracurricular opportunities, raising their aspirations, self-belief and confidence, and helping them to be happy and successful.
Stuart Ormson
Assistant Principal (Student Support)
As Assistant Principal of Student Support, I lead a team of dedicated and caring staff who are passionate about helping young people to overcome any obstacles they may face to achieve success. Student wellbeing and inclusion is at the core of my duties, ensuring we have everything in place so students feel safe, can flourish in their studies and develop into kind and responsible young adults.
My personal aim is that we deliver the best possible support, at the earliest opportunity and in the right way so all students have the opportunity to reach their full potential. It's crucial to get the support right, as it paves the way for students to succeed at college and be ready to achieve their hopes and dreams for the future.
Amanda Crumblehulme
Assistant Principal (Business Support)
As Assistant Principal of Business Support, I oversee the teams across college who are responsible for our campus, our technology and our people. We collectively endeavour to create the very best learning environment for our students and ensure that they have first class technology available to meet the needs of their courses. What is absolutely critical too is that the staff who teach and support them are of the highest calibre and that their wellbeing is supported also, which enables them to provide such fabulous education and support for our students.
As part of this role I also lead on our digital and sustainability strategies. These strategies are designed to ensure that our students are equipped with the digital skills that will help them in their next steps and that they think and work in a sustainable manner to help build a better future.
