ABOUT US
Blackpool Sixth's Student Union is a representative body of students who aim to improve the overall experience of their peers at the college.
The Student Union is made up of students who work together to address issues and concerns raised by their fellow students. They act as a liaison between the student body and the college management, providing a platform for students to voice their opinions and suggestions.
The Student Union is committed to making Blackpool Sixth a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students.
WHY JOIN THE Student Union?
- Leadership skills: Being part of the Student Union allows you to develop leadership skills. You will be able to organise events, lead discussions, and represent your peers.
- Networking: Joining the Student Union gives you the opportunity to network with other students and college staff. You will be able to build relationships that can be helpful throughout your academic and professional career.
- Decision-making: As a member of the Student Union, you will be involved in making decisions that affect your college and your fellow students. This will give you valuable experience in decision-making and problem-solving.
- CV booster: Being part of the Student Union looks great on a CV. It shows that you have leadership experience, are involved in your community, and are committed to making a difference.
- Community service: Student Unions often organise community projects. Through these projects, you will be able to give back to your community and make a positive impact.
- Fun: Being part of the Student Union can be a lot of fun! You will be able to work with other students to plan events, parties, and other activities that will make your college experience more enjoyable.
2026/27 PRESIDENT and vice PRESIDENT
We’re excited to introduce Freya as the President and Christopher as the Vice President of the Student Union at Blackpool Sixth!
Freya and Christopher are passionate about making positive change within the college and need your support. Whether it’s ideas for events, initiatives, or ways to work with the community and local charities, they want to hear from you!
