COURSE oVERVIEW

Students study Functional Anatomy, Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology, Coaching for Performance and Fitness, and Specialised Fitness Training, exploring how the body and mind work together to improve athletic performance and physical wellbeing.

Learners develop practical coaching, training, and performance analysis skills through fitness activities, training design, and applied sport science techniques. The course also builds communication, leadership, and analytical skills that support progression into higher education and careers within the sport, fitness, and health industries

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Standard college entry requirements plus two grade 4s in GCSE combined science or grade 4 in GCSE Biology.

UCAS Points for Vocational Qualifications

Vocational courses are offered in different "sizes" equivalent to one, two, or three A Levels in terms of UCAS points.

Single: Equivalent to one A Level (maximum 56 UCAS points)
Double: Equivalent to two A Levels (maximum 112 UCAS points)
Triple: Equivalent to three A Levels (maximum 168 UCAS points)

Points for Single BTEC/CTEC:

Grade | UCAS Points

Distinction* (D*) | 56
Distinction (D) | 48
Merit (M) | 32
Pass (P) | 16

For Double and Triple awards, add the points for each grade to get the total (e.g. D* (56) + D (48) + M (32) = 136 UCAS points).

      All industries in sport, including but not limited to: sports journalism, sports science, match analysis, sports therapy, physiotherapists, and sports rehabilitation. Students who study this course are often successful in achieving placements on physiotherapy courses at university, courses that receive 600 applicants for 30 spaces.
