Daniel who studied performing arts, dance and theatre at Blackpool Sixth was selected to be part of the interval dance team during the semi-final and the final of one of the world’s biggest TV spectaculars.

He is currently in his final year of a degree course in dance at the prestigious Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA). As this year’s Eurovision is being held in Liverpool, the event organisers auditioned at LIPA for backing performers at the event. Daniel impressed them enough to secure an amazing opportunity so early in his dance career.

In the first semi-final, Daniel had the honour of being one of the backing dancers for Rita Ora’s performance. The former St. George’s School student commented,  “I didn’t expect to be doing something as high profile but it has just solidified dance as a career choice for me as it was an unreal experience that I will never forget. From costuming to choreography everything was done by the best of the best and to work alongside some of these incredible people was truly an honour for me and a learning experience that was invaluable to me and my career.”

Daniel is full of praise for the way that his studies at Blackpool Sixth has helped launch him into this exciting career path. He said, “I was given opportunities to not only flourish as a dancer but also training to be an artist and creator and this is something that I believe is invaluable in a dancer’s career. I had lots of experience in college and outside doing dance shows around Blackpool. Blackpool Sixth gave me the support and guidance to do this.”
