Your Spanish teacher has had a wide and varied experience of teaching and volunteering in different Spanish speaking countries. This has ensured the tutor approaches the subject in an empathetic and supportive way. A range of authentic and up-to-date materials, and trips abroad provide full immersion in the subject.

AQA AS/A2 grammar book £5 (per year), Kerboodle online is also provided for all students on the course, The novel “Como agua para Chocolate” costs £5/ You will need to have copies of each of the texts (your tutors will recommend versions throughout the year). We are also on the technology for learning scheme so you will need to have access to a device to enable you to work collaboratively in class and access a range of digital resources.
Lower Sixth: Modern Foreign Language (MFL) students are recommended to purchase the official AQA Grammar and translation Workbook for £5.99
Upper Sixth: all second year MFL students are required to purchase a novel for their chosen language which will be confirmed at the end of year 1

Where does it lead?
Learning Spanish can open up many more employment opportunities, even if not opting to continue the subject to degree level. The majority of A Level Spanish students at Blackpool Sixth further their studies to degree level and most combine with another subject, e.g. law, tourism, or French. Others opt to take other routes such as joining the army or spending a gap year travelling.
