Blackpool Sixth students shine at Lancashire Skills

A fierce contest, a fantastic effort, and a well-earned third place. Our Upper Sixth Sport & Exercise Science students made their mark at the Lancashire Skills Sports Competition this week.

Competing against 10 colleges from across the North West, the team delivered an outstanding performance in a very close contest, with just four points separating them from first place.

Their achievement reflects not only their strong subject knowledge, but also their commitment to their studies and their willingness to challenge themselves beyond the classroom.

Aleks Nichev, Bell Porter, Mason Enfield, Charlie Monteith, Charlie Tidswell, Alice Hall, Ashley Brookes, and Lucy Montgomery were a credit to the college and the Sport & Exercise Science department. We are incredibly proud of them.

Special recognition also goes to Steve Legge, Sport and Enrichment Development/Basketball Academy Director, for the exceptional work he does with students on the Higher Sport Leadership course. During the competition, our students earned full marks in the task coaching local primary school pupils, which is a testament to the practical experiences the course provides.

These opportunities are made possible through our excellent partnership with Active Blackpool, built on Steve’s dedication and commitment to developing students both inside and outside the classroom.

Congratulations to everyone involved on a fantastic achievement!
