The digital sector in the UK is thriving and currently contributes over £151 billion to the UK economy. Our local area of Lancashire has also seen major investment in becoming a digital hub with the development of the North Atlantic Loop which is set to open up more lucrative job opportunities over the upcoming years. The T Level in Digital Support Services will give you the opportunity to work with businesses in the digital sector and understand and learn the real skills that are required to actively work within this growing sector in the future.
This course requires at least 5 GCSE passes, including at least two grade 5 passes. You must also have passed both GCSE English Language and GCSE Maths at at least grade 4.

With this in mind, the development of digital skills is vital. By studying this course, you will be taught in our purpose-built Digital Lab/Suite using the latest technology to understand how the digital world is evolving and how this impacts on businesses in the 21st century. You will work with a host of our amazing business partners who will support you in developing the skills to use within a real-life business setting.
The course will allow you to think innovatively and bring in your own knowledge and skills to further develop your understanding of the digital world. You will have the opportunity to work on real-life digital problems faced by businesses and work on solutions to fix them.
During your time studying on the Digital T Level course, you will spend 80% of your time in the classroom and 20% of your time in the workplace. In Year 1, you will spend the majority of your time in the classroom where you will take advantage of our purpose built digital suite to learn the key content that employers want you to know and understand to work within the digital sector. You will take part in employer talks, online workshops and project based tasks to further your understanding.
In year 2, you will take part in 415 hours of work experience. We have developed strong relationships with local companies such as Victrex, Blackpool and Wyre Council, NHS and many more that will help you develop your digital skills further and work your way towards a career within this growing sector.
You will be taught by a range of business and digital experts who have developed their skills through engaging with industry professionals. These skills include being able to code in multiple languages including Python, C# and Visual Basic and working within small and medium sized businesses including setting up and running start ups.

Completion of 315 hours (45 days) of work experience within the digital sector.

The Business and IT department runs several trips and educational visits throughout the year to enhance the experience of studying subjects within the department. There may be other non-essential educational visits that students can access during the two-year course, such as visits to universities, conferences, businesses and many more.

Provide support on fixing, testing and undergoing upgrades of technology to ensure they remain fully functional
Infrastructure Technician
Help maintain and improve the digital environment within a business, including installing emerging technology and helping train up staff

Help ensure that all communication networks are fully operational and enhanced to help benefit businesses
IT Security Coordinator
Develop and maintain IT systems to ensure all data is fully secure and protected from malicious attacks
Technical Architect
Design and build of technical architecture. Undertake analysis of technical issues and using this analysis into creating technical designs that describe a solution whilst looking for opportunities to collaborate and reuse components, communicating with all stakeholders
