Statistics students must have a Casio graphical calculator. You can buy the Casio FX-9860Giii or CASIO FX-CG50. Casio has stopped producing the FX-9750Gii and FX-9760Gii, but if you can pick one up as a second-hand one, this is ideal for the course.
Those students studying both mathematics and statistics can purchase the Casio FX-CG50 which costs around £100, which can be used for both courses. Access to a laptop is required to access the online resources.
- Field trips, projects and employability opportunities
You will complete project work based on the Statistical Enquiry Cycle, which will ensure you understand how to run a work based project.
Where does it lead?
Statistics is used within a variety of jobs, industries, and businesses. At university, statistics modules will be part of other degrees, for instance, geography, psychology, and biology studies, so having these skills will enable you to complete these studies with greater understanding.
